Invisalign® is an orthodontic option that can be used to treat moderate to severe malocclusion. Unlike braces, which are affixed to the teeth, Invisalign® treatment is completed with clear aligners that progressively move teeth into proper alignment over the course of 12 to 18 months. This time frame is often shorter than what would be required for traditional orthodontic treatment, which may take 36 months or more for adults.
In addition to a shorter treatment period, Invisalign® offers several benefits over traditional orthodontic options. These include:
- Healthier Body and Mouth. No food restrictions or difficulties keeping teeth clean
- Reduced Irritation. Clear plastic aligners do not cut or irritate soft oral tissue
- Improved Comfort. No painful manual adjustments
- Virtually Unnoticeable. Aligners are clear and unobtrusive
With Invisalign®, there is no need to avoid contact sports or to purchase special dental tools to keep your teeth and gums healthy. You can eat seeds and nuts, fresh fruits and vegetables, and similarly healthful foods that are prohibited with braces, and you’ll enjoy fewer office visits. Braces require adjustments every few weeks. Invisalign® visits are spaced around six weeks apart and do not require manual tightening, making them more comfortable as well. During your initial consultation, we can discuss these and other benefits in greater detail to help you make the best decision for your needs.
The Cost of Invisalign®
Invisalign® and braces are comparably priced, but neither is typically covered by insurance. We can help you file an electronic claim with your insurer if you have coverage. Be sure to check before assuming. Orthodontic treatment is not standard with dental insurance.
We offer a 5% discount for cash payments and accept all major credit cards. We also work with CareCredit® and Lending Club® to provide financing for uncovered dental expenses. We can provide you with additional information about these options during your initial consultation.
Invisalign® is faster, more comfortable, and less restrictive than braces, but the treatments cost roughly the same amount. If you require orthodontic services, give us a call at 201-792-9400 to schedule a consultation and learn if this treatment is a good fit for you.
