The Practice at Maxwell Place is proud to be a digital dental practice. From imaging to digital impressions to electronic dental records, we strive to use digital technology whenever possible in order to improve the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of our dental care. This is part of our commitment to provide you with the best possible dentistry treatment available.
Dr. Frank is proud to announce that we now use the DEXIS CariVu for dental imaging. This portable device uses transillumination technology to improve our ability to diagnose and detect the presence of cavities during your regularly scheduled dental checkups.
CariVu uses safe, near-infrared light to make your tooth enamel appear transparent, while lesions and cracks indicative of decay absorb the light. This allows Dr. Frank to see past the surface enamel layer in order to detect any cavities developing within your tooth structure.
The DEXIS CariVu can be used in conjunction with digital x-rays in order to provide Dr. Frank with additional information when hard-to-detect cavities appear as a suspicious, yet unidentifiable mark on your x-ray. This allows Dr. Frank to treat your cavities in the earliest stages of development, ensuring that the most conservative dental treatments remain available to you. As a result, we'll be able to preserve as much of your natural tooth structure as possible, which will ultimately help you maintain ptimal levels of oral health for years to come.
