Porcelain veneers are an excellent option to improve a wide range of cosmetic imperfections with your smile. Due to their tremendous versatility, Dr. Frank often recommends porcelain veneers as part of a smile makeover.
While most people are suitable candidates for porcelain veneers, the procedure isn’t right for everyone. During your initial consultation at our Hoboken cosmetic dentistry office, Dr. Frank will evaluate your teeth and gums to determine if this is the right course of action for you.
In general, you will be a good candidate for porcelain veneers if you:
- Have healthy teeth and gums
- Don’t grind your teeth
- Have realistic expectations for the outcome of your procedure
Dr. Frank can use porcelain veneers to correct just about any cosmetic issue, including:
- Gapped teeth
- Worn teeth
- Misshapen teeth
- Chipped or cracked teeth
- Discolored teeth
- Crooked teeth
Keep in mind that porcelain veneers are strictly a cosmetic solution. They don’t address any functional issues with your teeth. For example, porcelain veneers can provide the appearance of straight teeth, but they can’t actually straighten your crooked teeth. If you want to address both the functional and aesthetic aspects of the issue, you may want to consider an alternative treatment option.
