Laser Dentistry

The lastest laser technology for more comfortable, non-invasive procedures!

Our office utilizes a state-0f-the-art soft-tissue laser which is revolutioninzing patient dental care.  Dr. DePaola  along with his hygiene team have received their laser certification from the World Clinical Laser Institute and have utilized laser dentistry to provide the highest standard of care to their patients.

We utilize laser dental therapy in the treatment of:

  1. Apthous Ulcers and Herpetic Lesions:  we are now able to stop the progression of Herpetic or Apthous ulcers in their tracks, once the laser is used to treat a herpetic or apthous lesion, it stops the progression of the disease, cauterizes the nerve endings giving your patient immediate relief from itching, burning, tingling or pain and it biostimulates the area encouraging quicker healing, in the case of the herpetic lesion, killing the viral particles means that your patient will immediately go from an active lesion to the healing phase of the lesion. If we can treat Herpetic lesions during the prodromal stage (tingling sensation) we can stop the lesion from ever manifesting.
  2. Tooth Desensitization: Teeth that are especially sensitive to cold and touch and often the result of bruxism habit can quickly and painlessly be comforted with the use of our laser therapy.  It quarterizes the nerve endings, biostimulates the area and eliminates the sensitivity.
  3. Laser Bacterial Reduction/Decontamination: In a continuing effort to provide comprehensive, non-surgical periodontal care, the use of the laser is a tremendous aid in treatment of periodontal disease.  The laser can selectively target diseased tissue while killing bacteria and biostimulating the bottom of the pocket.   This gives a marked advantage to our patients in the treatment of their periodontal disease.
  4. Laser Cosmetic Procedures: With our soft-tissue laser, we are able to create better smiles completing crown lengthening procedures without surgery.  This painless, quick approach lends itself to improved tissue healing and great cosmetic results.
